Welcome to my website about my Arizona book collection hobby. I buy, sell and trade
books about Arizona history, Arizona Territory, Superstition Mountains and the Lost
Dutchman Gold Mine, ghost towns, military forts, and old mines. Most my books are first
editions, and/or out of print books, and/or limited editions. This hobby came about as
a result of my past hobbies of bottle collecting/digging, and metal detecting. My name is Joe, and Mary is my wife. We live in Arizona. The Superstition Mountains &
the Lost Dutchman Mine can be a subject and collection all its own, and is discussed
more on that page. I have had very little experience buying through the Internet, but
would like to give it a try due to the vast area of exposure. Most my books have been
purchased from Arizona book stores. The hobby is mine but Mary does most the paper
work, including all the computer work. The biggest part of my Arizona book collection was purchased over about the last twenty
years from Bonita Porter Books. Bonita Porter is the most reputable dealer I have done
business with. I highly recommend doing business with her.My book collecting probably started unknowingly with my past hobbies of metal
detecting and Arizona bottle collecting, with books I purchased to research and locate old
mines, military forts, and ghost towns. I have always enjoyed Arizona's interesting and
intriguing history, especially the part before 1912 when Arizona was just a territory.
I started purchasing books just to read about Arizona and as time went on I started my
Arizona book collection. Some of my favorite authors are Nell Murbarger, Ray Brandes, Tom Kollenborn.
If you would like to see a picture of Mary and you have not already gone to the page on
the Superstitions, please take a look.
